Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium is a grant given by the government to schools in England to help them improve educational outcomes. Newlands Junior School receives a Pupil Premium Grant for each child who is entitled to receive Free School Meals or who has been entitled to over the last six years, and for any ‘Looked After Children’.
At the start of the academic year 2024-2025, there are 48% of children eligible for Pupil Premium Funding. We aim to use this to ensure all children who are eligible attain in line with children who do not receive Pupil Premium Funding.
We publish online, information about how we intend to use the premium to help our pupils achieve this, in our Pupil Premium Strategy. Everything we intend to put in place has been carefully selected, based on research findings from the EEF.
Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and strategy and how we allocate the funding. This is written at the start of each academic year and reviewed regularly throughout the year.
