With effect from July 2023, Newlands Junior School joined a collaboration with;
John T. Rice Infant and Nursery School,
Farmilo Primary School,
Intake Farm Primary School
Northfield Primary School,
Nettleworth Infants
And Crescent Primary School
The purpose of the collaboration is to:
Increase teacher skill, knowledge and expertise by increasing networking and the sharing of good practice opportunities
Develop and implement a peer-to-peer quality assurance process
Strengthen Governance
Identify and utilise economies of scale
Staff, including teaching assistants, office staff, teachers and senior leaders meet regularly to share ideas, network and develop collaboration projects. This unique CPD provides our staff with good quality training and the opportunities to work closely with colleagues. This professional development benefits the whole school community by providing experiences and learning opportunities for the young people we teach at Newlands Junior School.
The collaboration is designed to share and strengthen practice across our schools. It is not intended to affect the unique characteristics of our school or the way that we operate on a day-to-day basis.
Newlands has carried out a deep dive into DT, attendance, SEND and maths, which were also very beneficial to our teaching and learning. Schools have carried out deep dives into science, geography and safeguarding at Newlands which identified key strengths and areas to work on. We also carried out audits of the curriculum across schools.
this year we will be working on the new Ofsted curriculum, including teaching and the curriculum, leadership and inclusion.
If you would like to know any more about our collaboration work, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
