Multi-skills Tournament

On Tuesday 21st November, Mr Freeman and Miss Deakin took ten of our children (across Year 5 and 6) to a multi-skills tournament at West Notts College.  The children completed a variety of activities competing against other local schools.  A great afternoon out was enjoyed by everyone involved and, as usual, our pupils made Newlands proud by showing respect, team-spirit, encouragement and stamina.  The children came back smiling - they had had such a fun afternoon!

Cross Country

On Tuesday 17th October, 12 of our Year 6 children travelled to The Manor Complex to compete against other schools in a cross country competition.  The course was long and challenging and the children did us proud by showing resilience, positivity and great enthusiasm.  The girls finished 3rd overall and the boys 1st out of 10 schools, so this was an amazing achievement.

Special mentions need to go to Leonard Harding, who finished 1st, Summer Canning, who finished 4th, Isabella Canning, who finished 7th, and Thomas Hopkinson, who finished 10th.  All four children have qualified for the Notts Championships in February - a huge well done and such a proud moment for themselves and Newlands.

Here at Newlands, our fabulous P.E coordinator organises lots of sporting events and competitions for us to participate in. Here are some of our sporting photos.
