Our Roman Experience days
We were lucky enough to work with 'History off the Page', completing one of their online workshops. The children had an amazing two days learning about life in Roman Britain and making their own artefacts to help them understand what life was like in Roman Britain.
We made our own mosaics.
Much to the delight of the children, we learnt how Romans washed themselves and made our own 'bum sponges'!
We also designed and made our own badges.
We made our own mortariums.
Writing our names on papyrus using the Roman alphabet was fun!
A large part of our time was taken up with making a game board and counters and then playing our games!!! It was hard work but lots of fun!!!
In Citizenship, we looked at the environmental impact of everyday actions.

Maths Problem-solving with parents
In January, we were lucky enough to have lots of parents join us for a problem-solving morning.
We played some challenging games where we had to think strategically about how to win!
Tectonic Plates
In geography we have been learning all about volcanoes.
We learnt about the part tectonic plates play in the location of volcanoes.
What better way than to demonstrate tectonic plates than with Oreos
(which we just happened to enjoy eating afterwards!)?
Pompeii
After learning about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD, we used mod roc to create our own people of Pompeii, in a similar manner to how archaeologists have used plaster of Paris to preserve bodies in Pompeii.
Football Morning
We finished the Spring 1 half term with a football morning.
We had lots of footballing fun!!
Sports afternoon
Outdoor learning using learning powers
We visited the Open Centre in Derby to learn about Judaism.
Robotics
In Science week, we were lucky enough to have a Robotics session where we developed our programming skills.
Grandparents' Easter Craft
Lots of grandparents came to work with their grandchildren on a variety of Easter craft activities.
We had an amazing time!!
We took part in the Easter Egg and Spoon Race!
We finished the term emulating the artistic style of Pablo Picasso
Our trip to Magna
We have been lucky enough to work with Mr Emmerson throughout this year for our music lessons.
