Newlands Junior School

We are Proud

Y6 Residential 2021

Welcome to the Hagg Farm information page. We are very excited to be taking all our Y6 children on residential this year. In our experience, residentials provide children with the opportunities to forge strong friendship groups with children that they sometimes never cross paths with during their normal school day. These friendships, we have found, continue throughout Y6 and beyond, providing all participants with a strong support network.

This year we have 5 members of staff accompanying your children:

Ms Elliott - Visit leader, Assistant Head, SENCo & Y3 teacher

Mrs Martin - First Aid Lead & Y6 teacher

Miss Coupe – Y6 Teacher

Mr Robinson – Y4 Teacher

Another member of staff will also accompany us, but this has not been finalised.

Below you will find all the information about the visit.

If you and your child would like to see what we have got up to in previous years, have a look on the tabs - Residentials 2018 and 2019 - there are lots of photos which we added whilst we were there. We will be doing this during this residential as well, to keep you all informed what we have been doing so keep an eye on this page when we are away.

All children should have brought home their information packs along with a covering letter, on Friday (2nd July).

Please complete all the forms and return these to school asap.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Hagg Farm Information

Layout of the centre and dormitories

Hagg Farm consists of two blocks; the main centre and a separate block called The John Hunt Base. We will have use of the entire site and are the only school there. At least 2 members of staff will be staying in each block in the staff dormitories, so we are always available if your child should need us - whatever the time!

Your children will have the opportunity to choose who they will be sharing a dormitory with, before we break up.

Equipment and Food!

Below is the equipment list, just in case you mislay the one from your pack.

I have also added the menu choices for this year. The children will be voting which food we will be having at each mealtime before we break up. If your child does not like the choice voted for, please reassure them that there will also be jacket potatoes available (and if all else fails, we can always make them a sandwich!) THEY WILL NOT GO HUNGRY!
