Year 5 and 6 Athletics

On Tuesday 23rd January 2024 Mr Freeman and Mrs Martin took a group of Year 5 and 6 athletes to compete against other schools at West Notts College. The children took part in a variety of relays plus jumping and throwing events. As usual, our pupils made us very proud and displayed a host of admirable qualities: resilience, team-spirit, determination and respect. Everyone had a wonderful afternoon and were dearly proud to represent Newlands. A special mention must go to Travis Barlow, Leonard Harding, Thea Sprigg and Summer Canning who came first in the boys and girls Parlouf event ( 6 gruelling laps of the sports hall split between them). A big well done to everyone!
