We are Proud

World War Two

We love learning about WW2! We begin our topic with learning about the outbreak of war, we also learn about life in Britain during WW2 through rationing, The Home Guard, Land girls and evacuation. Later in the term we visit Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln and we also hold our own Evacuee afternoon for parents and grandparents. If you want to find our more about what we cover please look at our topic overview and knowledge organiser below. As the topic progresses we will be adding more to this page.

                                   Year 4 Bomber Command Visit

On Tuesday 17th June, our Year 4’s enjoyed an amazing day at ‘Bomber Command’ in Lincoln. Linked to our World War 2 topic, it was a perfect day out that included looking at artifacts (including uniforms); finding out about the history of Bomber Command; going inside an Anderson shelter and wandering through the Memorial Gardens. The children behaved immaculately – we even received compliments from members of the public.
